In this “quick hit” segment we watch the recent video put out by the President of El Salvador touting the successful transfer of 2000 prisoners into their new Mega-Prison. Afterwards we analyze and compare this to the prison industrial complex in the United States and whether this is a good move for El Salvador. El Salvador is home to many members of the notorious MS13 and 18th Street gangs. The country had one of the highest murder rates in Central America before recent actions taken by Nayib Bukele’s government after his election.
